Prayer for next week

I have a few things for you to pray about this coming week:
  1. I'm hoping to find some options for our meeting location. Please pray that God will lead me to the place He desires us to be. Location can be a significant thing. I want to know that we're exactly where God wants us.
  2. I have a meeting with Dr. Fisher Humphreys of Beeson Divinity School to talk about church stuff and Theology/Doctrine issues that I want some of his insight and wisdom on. Please pray for this meeting. Dr. Humphreys is a great, humble, and gifted man. He's written a number of books on theology. And he, of course, teaches at Beeson.
  3. I am meeting with Otis Corbitt on Wednesday. He is on staff at the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. We are meeting to see how they might be of service to our church plant, and the possibility of our affilitating with the SBC.
Romans 8:25 "But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."

Blessings!

About Our Second Meeting

We had a wonderful second meeting this past Thursday. It was very evident that we all are united in spirit and purpose. We were more able to open up in this meeting and there was a true sense of God's Spirit among us.

We're meeting again Thursday, October 26th.

Our next 242 Meeting is this coming Thursday night. Please be in prayer for us. This is our second time together, and we're expecting a full house.

What does 242 mean? Check out Acts 2:42 and you'll know.

Prayer Team

Prayer is the essential ingrediant for anything of any value in the Kingdom of God. Because we desire the ministry of Lifesong Church to be a great work of God, we are asking for other believers to join with us as prayer partners. We aren't just asking for people who will say that they'll pray, but people who will truly pray on a consistant basis with fervancy.

James 5:16b - "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

If you believe God is asking you to partner with us in prayer, will you please let us know by clicking the "comment" link below this post and tell us. We would also appreciate you sending us your contact information to:

We will use this web-site (PRAYER BLOG) as our communication tool for our specific prayer needs and praises. Please refer to it often as you pray for this ministry.

Please know that we will partner with you as well, and we will commit to pray for you--especially that God will bless you and give you favor for being a faithful partner in this Kingdom work.

For the glory of God,
gary and the launch team

Prayer Needs

  1. Please pray for God to reveal the strategy and timing that He desires for us in launching the church.
  2. Pray that God will build our launch team as He desires. We are asking for at least twenty people before our official launch. Currently we have ten people.
  3. Please pray that God will strengthen our launch team as a community and as leaders that we all will be fully prepared come launch time.
  4. Please pray for peace, wisdom, and patience for each member of our launch team. The enemy will be seeking to attack, hurt, and destroy all who are choosing to be a part of God's work.
  5. Please pray for God to lead us to the place we are to meet for services.
  6. Please pray for the logistical details that need to be taken care of in the business and planning aspects of the church.
  7. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to be preparing the way for us to proclaim and minister the Gospel boldly in the communities He has called us to.

First Launch Team Meeting

Our launch team met for the first time this past Sunday night - October 1st. We had a wondeful time of food and fellowship. We all shared a little individually of how God led us to be a part of this ministry. We worshiped through communion and spent time in prayer.

We are calling these 242 MEETINGS based on Acts 2:42 - "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

We are already a close group because of our family relationships and history in ministry together. We all share an excitement that God has truly brought us together. I'm not just saying this as touchy-feely, spiritual sunday school talk - there is a real sense of God's divine intervention leading us all together in this ministry. Because of that, there is a unified desire and trust that we are a part of something God-sized.

We are going to meet again on October 15. I would appreciate your prayers for us to have great sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Please also pray for me as I lead worship at Valleydale Church that morning that God would lead us to an authentic time of God-ward worship. I'm a little nervous because I haven't led worship in a while.

Blessings!
